God is Great!

A man reached 100 years of age and he faced a disease; he could not urinate. The doctors informed him that he was in need of an operation to cure this disease. He agreed to have the operation done as the problem was giving him much pain for days.


When the operation was completed, his doctor gave him the bill which covered all the costs.


The old man looked at the bill and started to cry. Upon seeing this the doctor told him that if the cost was too high then they could make some other arrangements. The old man said “I am not crying because of the money but I am crying because


God let me urinate for 100 years and He never sent me a bill.”

STORY ABOUT BEING PATIENCE

Patience, they say, can cook soft a hard stone. We should learn to be patient always. Below is good example of the need to be patient:

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted. As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.

Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat Disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound QURAN, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, "With all your money you give me a QURAN?", and stormed out of the house, leaving the QURAN.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a Telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.

When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new QURAN, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the QURAN and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse;
As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the QURAN. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and
the words...PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not packaged as we expected? I trust you enjoyed this. Pass it on to others. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for...

"Man will always be with his beloved ones even after death"

Sheikh Dahhan rahimahullah was a famous Aalim of Makkah Mukarramah.

He narrated this incident that a man died in the city. His heirs decided to bury him in the grave of a pious Aalim of Deen, who had died recently. In those days it was a custom in Makkah Mukarramah that many people were buried in a single grave one after the other. Thus they started digging the grave. As they dug deeper the corpse that lay therein was exposed. People saw that instead of the Aalim of Deen’s body, there lay a body of a European girl.

BODY SWOP:
The people were astonished. Where did the Aalim of Deen’s body go? How had the girl’s body come here? By chance there was a European Muslim tourist among the group of people who had come to bury the man. He said that he knew the girl. She was the daughter of a Christian Frenchman who had quietly embraced Islam. He had taught her religious books and that is how he knew her. She had fallen ill and died. The people then realized that as she had been very religious her dead body had appeared in Makkah Mukarramah, the most sacred of all places.
But what about the Aalim of Deen, they wondered. What had happened to his body? That could not be explained. Then someone said that the body of the Aalim of Deen’s was lying in the girl’s grave. As this was a plausible explanation, the people asked the tourist to ascertain the truth when he returned to France after performing Hajj.
After performing Hajj, accompanied by an acquaintance of the Aalim of Deen, the European tourist returned home. He went to the girl’s parents and explained everything to them. They were amazed. They could hardly believe that their daughter’s body which had been buried in France could suddenly appear in Makkah Mukarramah. Still they agreed to open their daughter’s grave and find out.
When the grave was opened they were astonished to see that instead of their daughter’s body it really did contain the corpse of the Muslim Aalim of Deen who had been buried in Makkah Mukarramah. And not only that, but the body lay torn and cut up in pieces.

REASON:
Sheikh Dahhan went on to say that somehow or the other, the European tourist managed to send us the news that the Aalim of Deen’s body was undoubtedly in the girl’s grave in France. The people in Makkah Mukarramah now became very worried. It was true that the girl had been really religious as was apparent by the fact that her body was transferred to a sacred land but what had the Aalim of Deen done that he had been punished so?
They decided to go and ask the Aalim’s wife, for surely she would know. He was a very religious man, she told them. He always said his prayers and read the Quraan. He even used to offer his Tahajjud prayers. But, the people said, there must have been something which he did which aroused the wrath of Allah Ta’aala. Well, she said thinking hard; he used to say when he needed a bath - that the custom of the Christians is praiseworthy indeed that they didn’t have to take a bath after sleeping with their wives at night - . Well, that’s it, the people nodded. That’s why Allah Ta’aala had sent his body to the graveyard of the people whose custom he liked.

LESSON:
Dearest readers! Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam has said: “A Man shall be with him whom he loves.” Explaining this Hadith Ulama have written that Abdullah Ibn Masood radhiallahu anhu said that Rasoolullah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam was asked: “What do you say about the person who loves a saintly man but cannot equal him in deeds?” In answer Rasoolullah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam told him this Hadith. (Ma’arif ul Quraan, vol 4, pg 550)

Thus we come to know that a person may not fully adopt the characteristics of the person he loves but because of his love only he shall be dealt with like him.

Once upon a time, there lived a King who, despite his luxurious lifestyle, was neither happy nor content.

One day, the King came upon a servant who was singing happily while he worked. This fascinated the King; why was he, the Supreme Ruler of the Land, unhappy and gloomy, while a lowly servant had so much joy.

The King asked the servant, 'Why are you so happy?'

The man replied, 'Your Majesty, I am nothing but a servant, but my family and I don't need too much - just a roof over our heads and warm food to fill our tummies.'

The king was not satisfied with that reply. Later in the day, he sought the advice of his most trusted advisor. After hearing the King's woes and the servant's'story, the advisor said, 'Your Majesty, I believe that the servant Has not been made part of The 99 Club.'

'The 99 Club? And what exactly is that?' the King inquired.

The advisor replied, 'Your Majesty, to truly know what The 99 Club is, place 99 Gold coins in a bag and leave it at this servant's doorstep.'

When the servant saw the bag, he took it into his house. When he opened the bag, he let out a great shout of joy... So many gold coins!

He began to count them. After several counts, he was at last convinced that there were 99 coins. He wondered, 'What could've happened to that last gold coin? Surely, no one would leave 99 coins!'

He looked everywhere he could, but that final coin was elusive. Finally, exhausted he decided that he was going to have to work harder than ever to earn that gold coin and complete his collection.

From that day, the servant's life was changed. He was overworked, horribly grumpy, and castigated his family for not helping him make that 100th gold coin. He stopped singing while he worked.

Witnessing this drastic transformation, the King was puzzled. When he sought his advisor's help, the advisor said, 'Your Majesty, the servant has now officially joined The 99 Club.'

He continued, 'The 99 Club is a name given to those people who have enough to be happy but are never contented, because they're always yearning and Striving for that extra 1, saying to themselves: 'Let me get that one final thing and then I will be happy for life.'

We can be happy, even with very little in our lives, but the minute we're given something bigger and better, we want even more! We lose our sleep, our happiness, we hurt the people around us; all these as a price for our growing needs and desires.

That's the "99 club".

INTRODUCTION OF FOOTBALL IN NIGERIA

The Introduction:
The game of football started in year 1800. The Federation International Football Association
(FIFA) was founded on the 21ST OF May, 1904. In Nigeria when the game started, it was not
well recognized. It was introduce into the country by the European visitors and Missionaries.
The game was first introduced to the residents of Calabar, Port Harcourt and Lagos which were
the cities in the coastal areas of the country the Europeans visitors on tourism. They was
introduced into the missionary schools. It is on record that the colonial official played a match
in Lagos, in 1841.
In 1906, clubs started an these were organized as town / city teams, clubs competition for the
Beverly up was introduced in Calabar in 1906. The formation gradually spread to other pail of
the country. The first organized football Association started in Lagos District Amateur Football
Association (LDAFA) in the Year 1932.
The Ibadan Football Association followed with its formation of other association in the country.

Work is the antidote for poverty

I find this piece hard to keep to myself alone. Please bear with me if you can’t read Yoruba well but the English interpretations should do you a big deal.

For some of us who recognize it, this was a poem we all learned by heart while in elementary school and I believe it is one of the driving forces in our lives as we grow. It reflects on the yoruba deep philosophy of the real value of life and element of real success. It seems all these values have eluded us with time. For those of us who appreciate the beauty of yoruba composition, we can not but feel touched once again with these lines of poem.

Self-Criticism

It is necessary for an individual to pause at the end of each day that has passed, in order to check himself and run through his achievements: What has he done in the course of the day? Why has he done it? What has he omitted? Why has he omitted it?

How excellent it would be if this self-criticism were to take place before one retired to bed.
This period of self-criticism and appraisal should certainly be counted among man's moments of progress; it is a moment when man impartially sits as a judge over himself and reviews his yearnings and inclinations, his instincts and motivations. It is a moment when the believer appoints, out of his conviction, a policeman to watch over himself, an investigator to probe him, and a judge to condemn or acquit him. In this way he progresses from the state of "the soul that incites to evil" to the state of "the self-reproaching soul" which reproaches its owner whenever he plunges into sin, or falls short of expectation.

If a believer fails to observe this brief period of soul-searching daily, then he should at least try to do so once every few days, or once a week. In this way, he draws up his life balance sheet, depicting to him his (spiritual) assets and liabilities.
A believer should also have a longer period of this practice at the end of each month, and an even longer period at the end of the year, when he bids farewell to one year and prepares for and welcomes another. This is the time to critically review the past and plan for the future. This is the (spiritual) equivalent of his final accounts for the year.

A fool at forty is a fool forever, If the date I am using as my birthday is right I think I should be almost getting to forty now. I feel cheated by my aspiration, I believe world has fooled me. I started primary school in 1979 till now I am still in school. I was in a gathering where virtues of becoming an hafis of Quran was discussed, then I was thinking something must be mentioned about virtues of having (Dip.). A story worth sharing

This story is VERY touching. It brought tears to my eyes. Let’s appreciate our loved ones and try make them happy the more!

4 years ago, an accident took my beloved wife away and very often I wonder, about her asleep in death? She must be feeling extremely sad for leaving a husband who is incapable to taking care of the house and the kid. 'cos that is the exact feeling that I have, as I feel that I have failed to provide for the physical and emotional needs of my child, and failed to be the dad and mum for my child.

There was one particular day, when I had an emergency at work. Hence, I had to leave home whilst my child was still sleeping. So thinking that there was still rice leftovers, I hastily cooked an egg and left after informing my sleepy child.

With the double roles, I am often exhausted at work as well as when I am home. So after a long day, I came home, totally drained of all energy. So with just a brief hug and kiss for my child, I went straight into the room, skipping dinner. However, when I jumped into my bed with intention of just having a well-deserved sleep, all I heard and felt was broken porcelain and warm liquid! I flipped open my blanket, and there lies the source of the 'problem'... a broken bowl with instant noodles and a mess on the bedsheet and blanket!

Boy , was I mad! I was so furious that I took a clothes hanger, charged straight at my child who was happily playing with his toy, and give him a good spanking! He merely cried but not asking for mercy, except a short explanation:

"Dad, I was hungry and there wasn't anymore leftover rice. But you were not back yet, hence I wanted to cook some instant noodles. But I remembered you reminding me not to touch or use the gas stove without any adults around, hence I turned on the shower and used the hot water from the bathroom to cook the noodles. One is for you and the other is for me. However, I was afraid that the noodles will turn cold, so I hid it under the blanket to keep it warm till you return.. But I forgot to remind you 'cos I was playing with my toys...I am sorry Dad..."

At that moment, tears were starting to run down my cheeks....but I didn't want my son to see his dad crying so I dashed into the bathroom and cried with the shower head on to mask my cries. After that episode, I went towards my son to give him a tight hug and applied medication on him, while coaxing him to sleep. Then, it was time to clear up the mess on the bed. When everything was done and well past midnight, I passed my son's room, and saw that he was still crying, not from the pain on his little buttock, but from looking at the photograph of his beloved mummy.


A year has passed since the episode, I have tried, in this period, to focus on giving him both the love of his dad and mum, and to attend to most of his needs. And soon, he is turning seven, and will be graduating from kindergarten. Fortunately, the incident did not leave a lasting impression on his childhood memories and he is still happily growing up.


However, not so long ago, I hit my boy again, with much regret. This time, his kindergarten teacher called, informing me of my son's absence from school. I took off early from work and went home, expecting him to explain. But he wasn't to be found, so I went around our house, calling out his name and eventually found him outside a stationery shop, happily playing computer games. I was fuming, brought him home and whack the hell out of him. He did not retaliate, except to say, 'I am sorry, Dad'. But after much probing, I realized that it was a 'Talent Show' organized by his school and the invite is for every student's mummy. And that was the reason for his absence as he has no mummy.....


Few days after the caning, my son came home to tell me, the kindergarten has recently taught him how to read and write. Since then, he has kept to himself and stayed in his room to practice his writing, which I am sure, would make my wife proud, if she was still around. 'cos he makes me proud too!

Time passes by very quickly, and soon another year has passed. It's winter, and its Christmas time. Everywhere the Christmas spirit is in every passer-by... Christmas carol s and frantic shoppers....but alas, my son got into another trouble. When I was about to knock off from the day's work, the post office called. Due to the peak season, the post master was also on an edgy mood. He called to tell me that my son has attempted to post several letters with no addressee. Although I did make a promise never to hit my son again, I couldn't help but to hit him as I feel that this child of mine is really beyond control. Once again, as before, he apologized, ' I'm sorry, Dad' and no additional reason to explain. I pushed him towards a corner, went to the post office to collect the letters with no addressee and came home, and angrily questioned my son on his prank, during this time of
the year.

His answer, amidst his sobbing, was : The letters were for Mummy.

My eyes grew teary, but I tried to control my emotions and continued to ask him: " But why did u post so many letters, at one time?" My son's reply was: "I have been writing to mummy for a long time, but each time I reach out for the post box, it was too high for me, hence I was not able to post the letters.. But recently, when I went back to the postbox, I could reach it and I sent it all at once..."

After hearing this, I was lost. Lost at not knowing what to do, what to say..... I told my son, " Son, mummy is asleep in death, so in future, if you have anything to tell her, just burn the letter My son, on hearing this, was much pacified and calm, and soon after, he was sleeping soundly. On promising that I will burn the letters on his behalf, I brought the letters outside, but couldn't help opening the letter before they turn to ash.

And one of the letters broke my heart....

Dear Mummy,

I miss you so much! Today, there was a 'Talent Show' in school, and the school invited all mothers for the show. But you are not around, so I did not want to participate as well. I did not tell Dad about it as I was afraid that Dad would start to cry and miss you all over again. Dad went around looking for me, but in order to hide my sadness, I sat in front of the computer and started playing games at one of the shops. Dad was furious, and he couldnt help it but scolded and hit me, but I did not tell him the real reason. Mummy, every day I see Dad missing you and whenever he think of you, he is so sad and often hide and cry in his room. I think we both miss you very much. Too much for our own good I think. But Mummy, I am starting to forget your face. Can you please appear in my dreams so that I can see your face and remember you? I heard that if you fall asleep with the photograph of the person whom you miss, you will see the person in your dreams. But mummy, why havent you appear?

After reading the letter, I cant stop sobbing. 'cos I can never replace the irreplaceable gap left behind by my wife....

For the females with children:

Don't do so much overtime. If you cannot finish the work, it must be some kind of problems within the company, and it is not your sole problem. Feedback to your boss. Endless overtime may not necessary be the answer to the problem. Take care of your health so that you can treasure and take care of your little precious children.

For the married men:

Drink less, smoke less, cos nothing can replace your good health, not even business nor clients.

Try thinking this way, are you able to work till your clients are totally dependent on you? or your boss is totally dependent on you? In this society, no one is indispensable.

Take care of your health, so that you can take care of your little precious children and your loved ones.

Dont let your health be affected by your work or your boss, so nothing matters more than your well being.

WHY MALPRACTICE IS EVIL

Malpractice can be defined as a wrong doing or any illegal act which against the rules and regulations binding an organization or society. Malpractices are detected in different organization and different professions, as every organization have rules that are guiding them, all the members of the organization or society must adhere to taste rules to avoid unwanted actions against them. These rules are the policy in which the organization follows. It is refers to as the “ethics in practice”. However, any malpractice that is contrary to these ethics are refers to as malpractice. In schools, one malpractice that is very common is EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE.

The students are now in the habit of doing illegal practice in order to pass. Some pay people to impersonate on their behalf to write the exam and others run after the link out questions before the date of the examination.

The consequence of these illegal practices are enormous, The students that indulge in these acts end up carrying about the certificate that they would not be able to defends some of them fail during the periods of interview to get job and those who are able to scort free put the organization they work with into an endless regret, due to their failure to perform. Moreso, many students that rely on these shortcuts have turned negative attitude to learning, they are so lazy in their academics as they are assured of success. It destroys the students’ learning stimulus readiness to work.

In view of the student that are caught with these malpractices they gain automatic expellation, certificate turn down and bring shame to their home. Some parents are today heart broken because of the act. These student carry the shame about for the rest of their lives.

Finally, it is better to work hard and succeed than to cheat or look for any shortcut. Remember, there is always penalty for every cheats.

A teacher from Primary School asks her students to write a essay about
what they would like God to do for them..At the end of the day while marking
the essays, she read one that made her very emotional. Her husband, that had
just walked in saw her crying and
asked her:

What happened?

She answered



Oh God, tonight I ask you something very special: Make me into a
television. I want to take its place. Live like the TV in my house. Have
my own special place, And have my family around ME.
To be taken seriously
when I talk.... I want to be the centre of attention and be
heard without interruptions or questions. I want to receive the same
special care that the TV receives when it is not working. Have the company
of my dad when he arrives home from work, even when he is tired.

And I want my mom to want me when she is sad and upset, instead of
ignoring me... And... I want my brothers to fight to be with me... I want
to feel that family just leaves everything aside, every now and then, just
to spend some time with me. And last but not least make it
that I can make them all happy and entertain them...

In view of these various expectations, numerous statements of objectives exist as
a means of clarifying the aims of education. Significantly, the aims of education
include a wholistic development of the individual intellectually, morally, physically,
and socially. Education aims at strengthening the individual’s adaptation to
attitudes, occupations and traditions of various people. A curious survey of the
new National Policy on Education (1985) clearly highlights the following as the
aims and experiences:

1. The inculcation of national consciousness and national unity
2. The inculcation of the right type of values and attitudes for the survival of
the individuals and the Nigerian society.
3. The training of the mind in the understanding of the world around him.
4. The acquisition of appropriate skills, abilities and competence both mental
and physical, as essential needs for the individual to live in and
contribute to the development of his society.

In addition to the explanation of guidance & counselling, guidance is the
assistance given to individuals to understand themselves in relation to their
environment, so that they can make use of what they know about themselves and
their environment to take wise and intelligent decisions and make adjustments
where and when necessary. Even when there is no choice possible, guidance
services may help enables him to cope successfully with the inevitable.
Guidance is needed and necessary not just in crises situations but essentially it
should be available to normal young stars (primary school children) to help them
in coping with normal developmental problems. Developmental guidance is based
on the premises that the aim of guidance is not merely the amelioration of the
trauma or the prevention of mistales but rather, the maximum development of the
individuals and organizations.

One of the counseling services is to provide information services in such a way that will enhance
an individual understanding of the issues in his surroundings.

Information service is generally the collection and dissemination of valid and usable information
relating to the educational. Vocational and Personal Social needs of the individual.
Zerran and Riccio (1962) Sees Informational service as the assistance given to a student to under-stand, accept and utilize his abilities, aptitude interest and attitudinal pattern, in relation to his aspirations .

This implies that information service is designed to help each students adjust to his environment,
development, development his total educational and Vocational Programme (Olayinka, 1986)
Information services are needed to plan the future putting into consideration opportunities and
personal abilities or characteristics.

Pre-marital Sexuality and Teenage Pregnancy among Teenagers in some Secondary Schools

Adolescents or children who are within the age of 13 and 18 that are supposed to be in senior secondary school or fresher in higher institutions. This stage is very challenging and full of stress; individual start to develop self concept, a period of Ego identity, a period when the question ‘who am I’ is usually asked.

Sexual networking are various attempts made by the adolescents to initiate their age groups to sexual activities such sexual initiation includes adolescents’ friendship, teenage dating relationship and experimentation.
Adolescent depends on adults to guide their future vocational devices but due to the inconsistent standard of most adults, many children exhibit identity crises and role confusion such that they seek solace in peer groups. The absence of parent at home leads to many disturbing problems of crime and juvenile delinquency in which premature sexuality.

The genesis of premarital sex and teenage pregnancy can be traced to many factors in the society such as home.

Child grows and matures, he/she spends most of his/her early years at family home, and it is invariably influenced by whatever happens in the family as he naturally regards the family as his reference group and the senior members in the family as the significant figures. The social production of masculinity and feminity is often begun at home through socialization practices, which aim to instil specific personalities and identities into male and female children.

Family is the most important context because its major function in socialization, care of children and most importantly identities take shape.

There are inability on the part of the parent to adequately provide for their children needs especially the females. Also, desire for high class results in early sex in exchange for money and other rewards from men.

Unwanted/Unprepared Pregnancy

Unfortunately, these adolescents do not know and appreciate the possible complications and consequences that may result from premarital sex. The economic downturn in Society has contributed in no small way to the bad portrait of heterosexuality among our adolescents and youth. .

Those parents, who probably because of poverty have little or nothing to offer the children, let these children loose very early in life.

Negative outside influences (low income, lack of parental involving, increased emotional vulnerability, which normally results in increasing destructive demographic factors and with low expectation of future success. Some young people go into prostitutes in order to make money. So, also in many places, young people are lured or forced into prostitution.

Twist in adolescent networking through the prints and electronic media that show pornographic pictures, blue films, immoral home video, adverts, uncensored television programmes like the one shammed in “The Glamour Girls” the nonchalant attitudes of the government to commercial sex hawkers whom the adolescents see daily.

Sight appears to be a potent stimulus for men, advertisers and publishers of erotic play use this by using women’s breasts suggested through clothing, or naked, and her buttocks are considered to be sexually arousing to men.

Scientific and technological development refers to the gain and progress in science and technology that have led to industrialization, such developments affect not only what people wear, eat and use for transportation but also their thinking processes.

The adolescents are exposed to lots of questionable sexuality education through electronic and print media. On the internet, they browse pornographic, websites, they watch pornographic or blue films on the television screens and read sensational novels and magazines which induce them to want to practicalise without thinking about the aftermath of the activity.

- To find out the peer influence on premarital sexuality and teenage pregnancy
- To find out the effect of socio-economic status of the parent on pre-marital sexuality and
teenage pregnancy.

Research Hypotheses
1. There is no significant difference between gender and pre-marital sexuality.
2. There is no significant relationship between peer influence and pre-marital sexuality and
teenage pregnancy
3. There is no significant relationship between socio-economic status of the parent and pre
marital sexuality and teenage pregnancy.
